Becoming a Turkish citizen offers numerous advantages, including the right to live, work, invest, and travel with greater flexibility.
Turkey provides several legal pathways to citizenship, each with its own eligibility criteria and application procedures. We help you determine the most suitable route based on your individual circumstances — from your initial eligibility assessment to the final approval.
Citizenship by Investment
Turkey’s Citizenship by Investment Program offers qualified investors the opportunity to obtain Turkish citizenship through approved investments. Qualifying options generally include:
- Purchasing real estate with a minimum value of USD 400,000, subject to the applicable holding period.
- Depositing at least USD 500,000 with a Turkish bank for the required minimum period.
- Other qualifying investments approved under current Turkish legislation, including certain capital investments or employment creation projects.
Citizenship by Marriage
Foreign nationals married to Turkish citizens may become eligible to apply. Generally, applicants must:
- Have been legally married to a Turkish citizen for at least three years.
- Continue the marriage in good faith at the time of application.
- Meet the legal requirements established under Turkish nationality legislation.
Citizenship by Naturalization
Foreign nationals with long-term legal residence in Turkey may become eligible. Applicants generally must:
- Have legally resided in Turkey for at least five consecutive years, subject to the residence conditions established by law.
- Demonstrate an intention to settle permanently in Turkey.
- Possess sufficient financial means to support themselves.
- Have good moral character and no circumstances preventing naturalization.
- Demonstrate an adequate level of Turkish language proficiency.
- Meet public health and national security requirements.
Citizenship by Birth
Turkish citizenship is automatically acquired by birth when at least one parent is a Turkish citizen at the time of birth, regardless of the place of birth. We also assist with registration and documentation for individuals born abroad to Turkish citizens.

In certain circumstances, citizenship may be granted to individuals whose contributions are considered beneficial to the country, in areas such as:
